Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 2026.
SafeZip is built around a simple privacy posture: your archives never leave your Mac. The app processes every file locally and is explicitly blocked from making network connections by its sandbox entitlements (com.apple.security.network.client is set to false).
1. Data we collect
None. SafeZip does not collect any personal data, usage analytics, or crash reports. There is no analytics SDK in the binary. You can verify this by running strings against the bundled executable.
2. Data we send to third parties
None. The sandbox prevents the app from making outbound network connections.
3. Local data SafeZip writes
- Preferences (
~/Library/Containers/tech.huazhi.safezip/Data/Library/Preferences/): your conflict-resolution defaults, last-opened archive path, language preference. - Security-scoped bookmarks: an OS-managed reference to the folders you explicitly granted SafeZip permission to read.
- Extracted files: in the destination directory you choose.
4. Mac App Store version
Apple may collect aggregated anonymous metrics (downloads, crashes, device class) on Apple's side as part of the App Store experience. Those metrics are governed by Apple's privacy policy, not ours. SafeZip itself sends nothing.
