Terms of Use

1. License

SafeZip is licensed, not sold. You receive a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the app on Mac computers you own or control, subject to the rules in this document. The Mac App Store version is additionally subject to the Apple Licensed Application End User License Agreement.

2. What SafeZip does

SafeZip reads, extracts, and creates archive files. It does this entirely on your Mac. It does not access any of your data over the network. We provide the software as-is — please verify extraction results before deleting source archives.

3. What SafeZip won't do

  • SafeZip does not create RAR archives. RAR creation requires a license from RARLAB which we do not redistribute. SafeZip can read and extract RAR archives.
  • SafeZip does not bypass DRM. If an archive contains content protected by a license, SafeZip extracts the bits but does not unlock the license.

4. Disclaimer

SafeZip is provided WITHOUT WARRANTY of any kind. While the safety layer is designed to block known archive attacks (Zip Slip, symlink escapes, embedded executables), no security tool can promise to catch every novel attack. You remain responsible for the archives you choose to extract.
